Example of a dermonecrotic L. reclusa bite.

Most verified L. reclusa bites result in little damage.  Redness or a slight lesion may develop, but are typically self-healing.  Dermonecrotic lesions are considered rare, and systemic reactions represent less than 1% of all bite manifestations.[1]
